The Foreign Brothers take over the Gasometer for their new Residency: A late night Afrobeat Jam!
May 12, 2016
So we're pretty excited to share this one up with everyone! We are starting a new bi-monthly residency at the Gasometer in June and to celebrate this, we have put together a massive Afrobeat late jam featuring a stellar line-up of local musicians and DJ (Live Music until 2am!!! Dj until 3!), projections, dashiki business, face painting and perhaps even a mystery booth?
"Party people, the creative collective The Foreign Brothers have partnered with the beloved Gasometer to bring you their latest happening, The Showcase. This bi-monthly sensory fest will feature some of Melbourne's best musical talents, performance artists and sound lovers exploring the themes that tie this incredible scene together.
The music came from Africa, and so this is where The Showcase must begin as well. Move your body to the explosive purple haze Kora of The Senegambian Jazz Band. Uplift you spirit with the endless energy of Ethiopia's gift Nhatty Man-ChaChu ቻቹ & Gara. Surrender your mind to the future roots of the The Public Opinion Six. The great DJ Manchild completes the story on the decks and serves as the guide as the Brothers get deep.
